Let’s Kick-off!

It’s one of our absolute favorite times of the year…college football season! Fall days filled with tailgating, the smokey smell of BBQ, showing off school spirit, playing lawn games and being surrounded with friends and family. At Glory Haus, we love to support our favorite college teams! Every Friday we encourage our employees to dress up in their college gear while, of course, keeping an open mind to the teams everyone chooses to support.
We can’t wait to spend time with our families watching the big rivalry football games over Thanksgiving weekend. (Who doesn’t love a weekend devoted to family, food and football?) Most of us are especially excited for the Georgia vs. Georgia Tech game (go Dawgs!), but Glory Haus owners Molly and Trey are most looking forward to the Texas vs. Texas Tech game as they celebrate Thanksgiving in Texas with family. Friendly rivalries around our office are alive and well!
In spirit of our love for college football, we fall head over heels for the festive décor and gift items in our Victory Haus Collection. A few of our all-time favorites are the porcelain ball ornaments. (Hint: They are perfect Christmas presents for family and friends, and will make your Christmas tree full of school spirit!) Other items in our collection include burlees, canvases (beaded, regular and tabletop), picture frames, magnets, pillows, table runners, tea towels, tiles and tree toppers. Tailgating will never be the same! Head to the Glory Haus website for a full list of schools and products. We encourage you to stock up!
What college football team will you be cheering on this weekend? We’d love to hear! Stay updated with our team spirit photos on Facebook! And, better yet, post a photo of your college football spirit on our Facebook page! We’d love to see how you celebrated one of the biggest weeks in college football. No matter who you’re rooting for, we wish you a happy Thanksgiving from the Glory Haus team!

How Healthy Is Your Heart?

Psalm 51:10
Create in me a new clean heart, O God,
filled with clean thoughts and right desires.
Ram, one of our beloved Glory Haus employees, thought he had food poisoning - and after going to the Urgent Care facility, was rushed to the hospital by ambulance as he was having a heart attack. This type of heart attack is often mistaken for food poisoning and is referred to as the “widow maker,” because people don’t often survive.

One of Ram’s main arteries was 99% blocked. Fortunately, he was immediately taken into surgery and doctors were able to insert a stint and save his life. He and many others, including the doctors, truly believe it was a miracle that he survived.

Ram’s experience has prompted many Glory Haus folks to get their hearts checked to ensure they are healthy and to be proactive so that blockages might be found early enough to avoid a life threatening situation.

In reflecting on Ram’s situation, it is as if God was telling us to not only check our physical heart, but also our spiritual heart. Even though God knows our hearts inside and out, it takes courage to willingly let God examine our hearts and be open to His pointing out “blockages” or impurities that keep us from being all that He has created us to be, and doing all that He has created us to do.

It is our prayer at Glory Haus that we are all Grateful in this holiday season and open our hearts to God. He is the Master Physician. He can touch the broken places in your heart and bring healing if you will allow him access. He longs to heal your heart and make you whole.

Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test my thoughts.
Point out anything you find in me that makes you sad,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

By a special guest of Glory Haus:

I was completely and unexpectedly blessed yesterday at Glory Haus. After the prayer time I walked over to Ram to find out how he was doing after his recent health issues, and to let him know our family had been praying for him. But before I knew it, he was calling names of men to come and "bless this lady" with prayer. In a matter of seconds I felt like I was surrounded by warriors ready to battle on my behalf.

I was amazed by the willingness of these people, who didn't know anything about me, to come and pray over me. They came so quickly when Ram called. But beyond that, I was amazed and surprised by the incredible words of wisdom, discernment, and encouragement that they spoke to me and over me. It took me by such surprise that I could not hold back my tears. I was just soaking in every second of God's love and grace that was prayed over me by these wonderful Glory Haus workers.
Even the following day, I'm still remembering bits and pieces of what God spoke to my heart and soul when my only expectation was to give a helping hand. I suspect that this precious blessing it is going to continue for months to come.

Signature Glory Haus Line by Trista Sutter

We are thrilled to announce the creation of our new Grateful Heart collection in partnership with Trista Sutter, who many know as the first bachelorette on ABC’s “The Bachelorette.” The signature product line encompasses having a grateful heart and being thankful for all you are given. The collection includes wall art, picture frames, a journal, pillows and Trista’s favorite “Appreciation Jar.” Now until December 15, all Grateful Heart items are 10% off online. New products, including jewelry, will be introduced throughout December - keep your eyes open!

The Grateful Heart collection was inspired by Trista’s new book, “Happily Ever After - The Life Changing Power of a Grateful Heart,” which is available in stores beginning November 26. You can also pre-order her book on our website for only $15.80 (normally $24.99). Her book reflects on the secret ingredient that has helped her find everyday happiness: gratitude and grace. Trista and her husband Ryan have been married for just over 10 years and are one of the very few couples from “The Bachelor/ette” series that are still happily married. Each day, Trista makes a conscious effort to remember her favorite part of each day. She believes we all must recognize, accept, and be grateful for our daily blessings in order to fully embrace our “happily ever afters.”

“I have been a Glory Haus fan for years and a gift enthusiast for even longer, and could not be more thrilled to be partnering with Glory Haus and continuing to spread the message of gratitude found in my book,” said Trista.

The Grateful Heart collection is available for pre-order with shipments beginning in December. “Trista is a perfect fit for Glory Haus as we all live with a grateful heart daily,” says Molly Holm. We are excited to share this collection with you and hope that it brings you joy in finding gratefulness and grace in your daily lives.

Takeaways from Molly's Trip to Haiti

“This is the best trip Ive been on Mom,” says John Holm. He pauses and then says “well, except for maybe Disney World.”
In a very spontaneously planned trip, my eldest son and I traveled to Haiti last week. For me it was work that beckoned, for John it was a chance of a lifetime for an 11-year-old to see how another culture, one less fortunate than his, lives.

As I dug deeper into why this was Johns favorite trip yet, it was the one-on-one time with his mother – ME! That made it the best, he explained. We saw a lot of new things; we placed ourselves in some fairly uncomfortable situations, we ate dinner at the home of friends, worked on and designed some great new products for Glory Haus, drank quite a few Cokes made with REAL sugar, slept little, rode on four planes, and were HOT and dusty the whole time. All things we have done in other places, but not just John and I together, alone.  So what I realized is that in our house of three children, my children all need special time individually with their parents. They need us, their parents, to uniquely know them.

The day before I left for Haiti I had been at a birthday party where I witnessed an unbelievably tender moment between a 90-year-old grandfather, and his grown and married granddaughter. The exchange between the two left my emotions out of control. It was such a picture to me of how our Father God loves us each so personally and tenderly.

When John was recounting why this trip to Haiti was his favorite yet, I was drawn back to that tender moment and was reminded that all of us want to be known ultimately by our Father God. And the best way this Godly Love can be communicated to our children is through personal relationships with each of them. Our children want to be known deeply by their parents! Just as we want to be known by our Heavenly Father.

Although John and I witnessed life changing things, my takeaway was that as a mom of three, I need to know my children individually and do things with each individually – they crave this one-on-one time.  And in the busyness of this crazy thing called life, we can often get caught up with too much doing instead of being. As a mom, my highest calling is to nurture my boyshearts to be tender and for them to know all the days of their life that they are special, unique and loved.  I was reminded this week that being a Mother is a Holy Privilege!

Thank you Lord for continuing to string together events in my life that constantly remind me you love me and that you are calling out the very best in me, to love greatly, deeply and individually those around me.

Haiti, thank you for the time you gave me and John together. I am forever GRATEFUL!

Glory Haus, Inc. Acquires Simply Southern Signs

We are thrilled to announce that Simply Southern Signs will be joining our Glory Haus family! Rachel Lietch Walker, previous owner and artist of Simply Southern Signs, will be developing new design concepts for Glory Haus and adding depth to our collegiate Victory Haus collection.

The products of the newly formed division of Glory Haus will launch to markets nationwide in early 2014. Simply Southern Signs has a strong consumer following and had just begun to establish a wholesale base.  We are excited to introduce Simply Southern Signs to a larger market and broaden the artistic scope of Glory Haus.

Rachel will bring her experience of hand painting distressed wood signs to Glory Haus, along with her passion for Christ, art, the south, and sports. Her journey began in 2007 after being inspired by a painter in Colorado who painted the land, animals, and people that surrounded her. Rachel now travels across the Southeast to participate in art festivals and pursue her passion for the art industry. She is particularly well-known for her window art and portrays a fun, fresh, and unique perspective of life. Rachel believes art is more than just a hobby - that it’s her calling from God.

We are anxious to bring the new division of Glory Haus to consumers nationwide! Stay tuned for the product launch!

Happy Birthday, Marnie!

"Two Are Better Than One" Board, available for purchase January 2014

"Two are better than one!" This is the quote that was on the first Glory Haus product when we introduced Glory Haus to the world in our first showroom, Darrah & Co., in the Atlanta Mart.

This weekend I had the opportunity to celebrate Marnie Tanner on her 40th birthday!  Marnie is the founding creative director of Glory Haus. As I was choosing Marnie's birthday present and writing her card, this quote kept coming to mind, "Two are better than one!"

Two are better than one is especially true when starting a company. It was Marnie Tanner who believed in my God given dream of Glory Haus and Believed it could happen! It was Marnie who first said, "Yes, I am in for this adventure," with a smile on her face! It was Marnie who repeatedly gave me the courage to do something so crazy as start an inspirational gift company in the middle of a recession, selling people gifts they did not need. It was Marnie who came alongside and believed that even though folks did not need our art they would want it! Marnie was the friend to this owner of Glory Haus who continued to say, "I believe we can do this thing!"

Marnie is one of the wisest women I know. She is an amazing friend, mother, baker, teacher, and creative thinker! She is also one of the wittiest gals I know. It is always fun to be with Marnie. She makes every situation more fun!

So, it is my honor to celebrate 40 years of Marnie's life! She has blessed me, my family, and Glory Haus!

Marnie, thank you for validating that "Two really are better than one!"

Glory Haus is thriving today because at the very start you were willing to go on an adventure with a friend and I am forever grateful!

I love you Marnie Tanner!

Happy Birthday!

-Molly Holm
