be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
Christie and Ricky’s Wedding Shower
Here at Glory Haus, we love to celebrate. We celebrate birthdays,
graduations, anniversaries and more. But, we especially love to celebrate
weddings, because marriage is the perfect picture of God’s love for His people. That is why we were so happy when,
Christie, who works in our personalization department married her true love,
Ricky. We celebrated her new marriage recently with an Italian themed shower
and we would love to share some of our
ideas with you for your next party or event.
We decorated a portion of the main wall to be the focal point of
the shower. We attached brown packaging paper on the wall, then hung a Glory
Haus burlap “love” banner at the top
Next, we hung heart garland on either side to help frame the
brown paper. We made the garland by simply cutting heart shapes out of red
poster board and hot gluing twine to the back of each heart.
We hung an old chalkboard in the center of
the brown paper. Then, we wrote the
couples name in a cute font.
To complete the look we drew a cute, romantic doodle border
around the chalkboard onto the brown package paper.
After that, we placed a table beneath the chalk board to create a
space for desserts. To decorate this table we created a “Wishes and Wisdom”
jar. Guests were asked to write well wishes, or words of wisdom for the
couple on small pieces of card stock, and place in the jar for Christie and
Ricky to take home and keep as a memento from the day. Also, just for fun, we
filled a large clear bowl with ring pops for guests.
For tables, we used red gingham table cloths. To go with our
Italian theme, we placed different kids of pastas in mason jars and combined
them in the middle of the table with flowers and large vintage looking tomato
sauce cans.
We also placed small chalkboards with scripture verses about love
on each table.
Christie and Ricky’s
shower turned out beautifully. The decorations, and the smell of delicious
lasagna in the air made our Glory Haus lunchroom feel like a quaint restaurant
on the streets of Italy. We had a wonderful time celebrating Christie and Ricky’s union. We prayed over the the
newlyweds, and ask God to pour out His blessings and mercies upon their new
family. Please join us in keeping this couple in your prayers.
